Gateway Ministries was established in 1987 by Apostle Travis & Prophet Ann Thigpen as a regional training and resource center, and a Gateway to the supernatural for Gods people. Apostle Thigpen was first ordained by Dr. Ken Sumrall in 1978, and then by Bishop Bill Hamon of Christian International in 1987. Gateway has hosted a School of the Holy Spirit since that same year. Our focus has been to teach the ways of God by a balanced presentation of His Word. The scriptures tell us that Israel knew the acts of God, but Moses knew the ways of God. In coming to know God in a more intimate fashion we are better able to pursue and fulfill our destiny.
Apostle Thigpen has developed extensive prophetic training materials in order to establish Biblical foundations for those who minister. He has produced two major volumes for prophetic training in the past 10 years and is currently working on a book on Prophetic Apologetics. Gateway has developed both foundational and advanced prophetic training for the church at large. The Annual National Institute of Prophetic Ministry has been launched to provide intensive training for those willing to spend a week of their lives learning to advance in the Kingdom. It is our firm belief that all Christians can and should be equipped to do the work of the ministry (Eph. 4:12), which include supernatural giftings by the power and revelation of God.
He and his wife are founders and Senior Pastors of Hosanna Victory Church, which was established in 1988 as a strong multicultural, multi-racial church body. He has taught and trained people in the prophetic in many states as well as done mission work in 6 nations. Apostle Travis and Ann have been married for 38 years and have 2 children, Renee and Daniel, and two grandsons, Samuel and Michael. Renee and her husband Chris serve as the Administrative Pastors in the ministry at Richmond.
